It’s been a hell of a week in the political arena and it was dominated crazy Universities, Supreme Court rulings and Republicans wanting to see Obama’s birth certificate. With all these FAILS going around it’s kind of hard to keep track, but we found a way to bring you the biggest ones of the week.

Brigham Young University (BYU) basketball player Brandon Davies was suspended for violating his school’s honor code. The code states that students living on and off campus should “encompass the gospel of Jesus Christ, and will be honest, live a chaste and virtuous life and obey the law and all campus policies.”

Davies has been suspended from the basketball team for the rest of the season after admitting to having sex with his girlfriend.

It’s a shame that a student athlete is forbidden from participating for a mistake, it’s almost a contradiction. Davies was honest enough to admit his wrong doing but his honest was met with penalty.

Hawaiian officials, on many occasions, have showed Obama’s birth certificate. What more can he do?

This week the Supreme Court ruled in an 8-1 decision in favor of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas’s right to protest at the funerals of slain servicemen and servicewomen. Chief Justice, John Roberts said in his opinion, “Speech is powerful [but]…we cannot react to that pain by punishing the speaker,” .

STORY: Free Speech Or Hate Speech?

We think in this case you can and should punish the speaker. How is protesting at dead soldiers funerals helping anyone, how is that helping the progression of freedom of speech? What will be gained by the Westboro Baptist Church as they continue to protest at the funerals for dead soldiers?
