Really?? Shoes Made From Sh*t

High stepping in shit is what I might call it. London-based artist and fashion designer, INSA, created 10-inch heels with platforms made from elephant dung. Why, might you ask? For the sake of art, of course! Highsnobette reports that the designer created these shoes as a response to the famed artist, Chris Ofili’s work.

The Nigerian-born, Trinidad-based Ofili is best known for artworks referencing aspects of his Nigerian heritage, and particularly his incorporation of elephant dung. New Yorker’s may remember Ofili from his paintings, “The Holy Virgin Mary,” which used elephant dung as a material and which then mayor Rudy Guiliani tried to have banned from a Brooklyn Museum exhibit.
