Welp, Selena Gomez started 2015 off on a bad foot. Literally.
After jetting to the United Arab Emirates to usher in the New Year in absolute opulence, the singer landed herself in some hot water.
She and some of her closest friends—Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Shay Mitchell, and more—paid a visit to the historic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi this week and took photos that have been deemed offensive by mosque leaders, reports TMZ.
In one shot Selena shared on Instagram, the group hams it up for the camera as a lower leg is revealed. Mosque rules prohibit “laughing and smiling” and the showing of skin is another major no-no on the site of a sacred place, yet in another one, Selena exposes her entire ankle.
This “sexy” snap has since been removed, but the group picture is still up and has been the topic of heated debate in the comment section.
Pictures say a thousand words, but to many, hers only say one: disrespectful.
