Season 5 of “Power” premieres on July 1st and we all know how season 4 left off but from the looks of it, the show’s 5th season could come with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. Before the new season has our Twitter timelines divided between Team Tasha and Team Angela, we want to take a moment to drop a few fun facts about the cast.

Joseph Sikora & Omari Hardwick, Southpaw premiere

Joseph Sikora and Omari Hardwick actually trained to be firefighters before becoming professional actors.

 

Before acting, Omari Hardwick was a teacher. He actually was a substitute teacher and coach at Campbell Hall in Los Angeles.

Michael Rainey Jr. (aka Tariq) made his acting debut in Sesame Street.

Lela Loren (aka Angela) gets attacked on social media in real life. I guess people tend to forget “Power” is just a television show.

Naturi Naughton (aka Tasha) portrayed Lil Kim in the Notorious B.I.G biopic “Notorious”.

J.R. Ramirez (aka Julio) broke his finger and hand while filming Julio’s final scene.

Omari Hardwick turned down a role in Girls Trip. He would have played the husband of one of the main characters.

Courtney Kemp Agboh, the show’s creator is actually Team Angela. She believes Angela is more ride or die than Tasha. In reality, Tasha is pretty selfish and doesn’t really back Ghost up on any decision that involves him just being James and getting out of the life. 

We weren’t really supposed to see Kanan’s “manhood” on screen. Last season, 50 Cent’s penis was exposed to the world and apparently, that wasn’t intended. He tells TV Guide,  “First it was supposed to be darker [after footage was edited.] You couldn’t see it on the screen. [A producer ] was like, ‘I gotta show you! When you put it on the screen, you can see it.’ I don’t care.”

The first scene “Power” ever shot was with Joseph Sikora (Tommy) and J.R. Ramirez (Julio).
