The college experience is not the same for everyone.
Going to a Historically Black College or University is an experience like none other. Just ask Black folks who went to PWIs (Predominantly White Institute).
Attending and HBCU is sort of like joining a bigger family that you’ll be apart of for the rest of your life — minus the drama that comes with real families.
You definitely went to an HBCU if any of the following things apply to you. Hit the flip to see if you’re a real one.
You feel a spirit of former Black college students come over you when you hear, “Man I got that Swaaaaag”.
After dealing with the financial aid, registration and advisors office for so many years, long lines no longer phase you.
Walking to class was a fashion show — Every. Single. Day.
Beyoncé’s Coachella performance sparked instant nostalgia and gave you major College football game flashbacks.
You miss Fried Chicken Wednesdays.
You get geeked anytime you see someone rocking your school paraphernalia on TV.
Every year, you reunite with your friends and pretend to be college students again, at Homecoming.
You’re use to there being more women than men in any setting.
