On episode 3 of Insecure, we are sent through a whirlwind of emotions. On this week’s episode, we dive deeper into Issa and Daniel’s platonic relationship, Daniel struggles with compromising his musical sound to land a placement with a major artist, Issa has lost her love for her job and we’re finally getting to see Molly experience her first few days at an all black law firm. Everyone on the show is seemingly struggling with decisions they’ve made but one thing we can always count on is an amazing soundtrack each episode.

This episode has fewer songs than we’re used to but each one is worthy of its place on the show. Check them all out below.

Peyton – “Sweet Honey”

“Sweet Honey” was written by Peyton and produced by Chase of Nazareth. Peyton is an R&B singer from Houston, Texas. She released her debut project, Roller Coaster in December 2015. “Sweet Honey” came soon after.

Maliibu Miitch – “Give Her Some Money”

Produced by Yung Berg, aka Hitmaka, and Lee On The Beats, “Give Her Some Money” is all about celebrating the baddest chicks. Ironically, Maliibu Miitch is actually not from Malibu, California. She’s from South Bronx and has worked with the likes of  Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih. Maliibu Mitch is one half of the group Maliibu N Helene. The duo is known for their tracks “Starin’ At It” and “Figure 8,” which was produced by DJ Mustard.

Tasha The Amazon – “All Black”

Tess Henley – “Better”

Tess Henley released this single just in time for its debut on Insecure. Tess is a soul singer-songwriter and pianist from Seattle, WA. She was the Guitar Center Singer-Songwriter 3 Winner and has also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel.

“Trouble On Central” appears on Buddy’s latest project, Harlan and Alondra. Buddy released the track earlier this summer just as he was concluding the Amerikkkana Tour with Joey Badass. Buddy will be releasing his first full-length album with RCA Records very soon.

City Girls – “One Of Them Nights”

The summer belongs to City Girls. This is their second song to be featured on Insecure this season.  The Miami duo shows no sign of slowing down.

Amber Mark – “Love Is Stronger Than Pride”

As a child, Amber Mark had been traveling internationally with her German mother, from Berlin to Miami to India before settling in New York with her godparents who adopted her while she was in high school.  Now, she’s being featured on hit television shows for the world to hear. Amber Mark’s “Love Is Stronger Than Pride” was the emotional song we needed to end episode 3 of Insecure. She made her debut on the music scene in 2016. Now the 24-year-old soul singer can’t be stopped.
