Happy Halloween! What better way to celebrate the day of the dead than with classic horror flicks.

Some horror films are so iconic that folks are still dressing up as their favorite killer for Halloween.

Earlier this year, the highly anticipated new “Child’s Play” film was released, and thriller fanatics couldn’t be more hype.

Chucky is back to frighten a whole new generation of kids, which made us think about all the horror movie villains that had us millennials SHOOK when we were youngins. Some of them weren’t as scary as others, and some are more scary now that we’re adults.  Hit the flip to see horror movie killers ranked from not the scariest to scary AF.

Ghostface (Scream)

Ghostface was the villain of the Scream franchise who often called his victims on the phone, taunting or threatening them before stabbing them to death. He’d also ask his victims horror movie trivia and stalk them all over town until he got them alone. Pretty chilling if this was happening in real life, but compared to other horror film killers, we feel like we could take on Ghostface. Just don’t answer the phone.

Chucky (Child’s Play)

When you’re a kid, the thought of a doll being evil and attakcing you in the middle of the night is the scariest thing you can imagine. Chucky is a Good Guy doll whose soul was taken over by Charles Lee Ray in a voodoo ritual. Very scary stuff when you’re a kid. But as an adult, would you run from a 2 foot tall plastic doll? Probably not.

Jason Voorhees (Friday The 13th)

Jason Voorhees is one of the OG’s of this horror movie villain thing. He’s been murdering folks for over 40 years now and still manages to come back to life every few years. He’s a completely silent madman who haunts Crystal Lake and slaughters anyone he encounters. Not to mention he’s built like a football player, so once he catches you, you stand no chance. Despite Jason being pretty slow on foot, he’s once intimidating villain.

Michael Myers (Halloween)

Just like Jason, Michael Myers is a masked killer as well. He too has been slaying people since the late 70’s and never seems to stay dead for long. As a six-year-old child, Michael was admitted into a psychiatric hospital for murdering his older sister and broke out of the asylum after 15 years in captivity. Ever since then, he’s been roaming around town killing any teenager he can get his hands on. Michael Myers is pure EVIL, which makes him scary as hell.

Pennywise (IT)

An evil clown monster that hides in sewages to snatch and kill kids is by far one of the most frightening villains in a long time. Even adults are afraid of clowns. Pennywise can morph into any other person, animal, or object, which makes it easier to scare and capture someone. And according to him, “frightened flesh tastes better”. That’s some scary ish.

Candyman

Not only was Candyman immortal and equipped with superhuman strength, he was a demonic serial killer with a hook for a hand. He could teleport, turn invisible and summon a swarm of bees to attack his prey. When you hear about his tragic back story, you start to feel bad for the guy. That is until you realize his sole purpose is to mutilate and torture anyone who mentions his name. Just don’t call his name three time, you may be safe.

Freddy Krueger (Nightmare On Elm Street)

Freddy was a human serial killer who was burnt alive by the people in his town and got the opportunity to continue his like after death as a dream demon. There, he could enter his victims’ dreams and kill them in the Dream World. Freddy had blades for fingers which means you didn’t stand a chance once he got his hands on you. Not to mention he could enter a victims consciousness when their drunk or stoned. Freddy had folks in his town not sleeping for days. That’s some pretty scary ish.
