We’ve barely made it to April and already, the heteros of the world have spewed some of the most ridiculous comments this year.
These comments have ranged from ignorant to outright violent, and all of them should be a cause for concern. Not surprisingly, some of the most ridiculous statements came from people with a massive following. Unfortunately, they probably reflect other people who let hot garbage thoughts about LGBT folks seep into their brain.
From barely funny comedians to fragile boxers, hit the next pages for four statements that shouldn’t be uttered by a straight person ever again.
1. “If any f*g, punk a$$ ni**a come run up on me, trying to touch me on all that gay sh**, I’m letting you know right now — if I ain’t got my gun on me, I’m knocking you the f**k out. If I got my gun on me, I’m shooting you in the f**king face.”
Words literally uttered by Adrien Broner.
Let’s start with the basics.
This statement can be broken down into multiple festering piles of sewage.
Broner made these comments reportedly in response to Andrew C. Caldwell, a.k.a. the man who allegedly turned “straight” in the “I’m Delivert” viral video.
According to TMZ, Caldwell accused Broner of flirting with him, while Broner insists Caldwell is lying. The boxer claims that Caldwell is the one who was trying to shoot his shot.
Broner thus responded to Caldwell in the most terroristic way that can be common among cis-hetero men of the world.
Homophobic slur?
Check.
“Gay sh**” used in a negative connotation?
Check.
And probably the most horrifying part of Broner’s statement came when he literally threatened to kill a gay man if they tried to touch him.
As if gay men spend ninety-five percent of their day figuring out how they’re going to touch straight men.
And though body autonomy is important, one touch does not equal murder.
On a less extreme note, many cis-straight men feel like they’ll have a complete meltdown if another guy hits on them.
A healthy decline or a discussion on how you don’t want to be sexualized will suffice.
Never murder.
2. “How you a girl but don’t want your pu**y penetrated?”
Words literally uttered by Kodak Black
Speaking of romantic interactions, there seems to be a double standard when it comes to men hitting on women.
This year, Kodak Black has been proactively harassing Brooklyn rapper Young M.A who openly identifies as a lesbian, and his approach has been quite violent. In his song, “Pimpin Ain’t Eazy,” he even says “I’m f**kin’ Young M.A, long as she got a c**chie.”
Young M.A has clearly said before that she doesn’t have a preference for men, yet you’re trying to “fu**” her anyway?
Sounds like rape…especially from a man accused of sexual assault.
Kodak built on his “Pimpin’ Ain’t Eazy” lyrics in a recent Instagram live video where he said “How you a girl but don’t want your pu**y penetrated?”
Once again, Kodak thinks all women of the world, whether straight, gay, bi, or asexual, should receive a penis in their life or some vaginal penetration.
This is how rape culture thrives.
Not to mention, it completely overlooks and diminishes the sexual preference of Young M.A.
Meanwhile, if a gay guy merely brushed his shoulder against Kodak, I bet you he’d want to go all Adrien Broner on the man.
Every “pu**y” is not for “d**k” and every “d**k” is not for “pu**y.”
Wash, rinse and repeat.
3. “Listen, I have NEVER been homophobic in my fu**ing life. I love gay people as they love me.”
Words literally uttered by Jess Hilarious
Lies. Lies. Lies.
Ironically, Instagram star and Rel actress Jess Hilarious made this comment after calling someone the f-word on Instagram.
In a half-hearted apology for the incident, Jeff posted a video and typed, “Yesterday I called a young man a ‘fa**ot’ for disrespecting me. And for that, to the LGBT community I sincerely apologize. However, if I feel disrespected and that someone hit below the belt, whether they are gay or not, I’m going to return the same energy.”
So you’re going to clap back at someone by insulting their whole identity with a homophobic slur?
Got it.
But you’ve NEVER been homophobic in your life?!?!?!?!?
On top of this, the gays would appreciate it if you didn’t assume all of us were fans of your work. We come in all shapes, sizes and good taste in humor.
Signed – the gay delegation.
4. “I don’t have a homophobic bone in my body”
Words literally uttered by Kevin Hart
Oh Kevin Hart…
Another non-apologizing a$$ knee-grow.
Similar to Jess Hilarious, Hart tried to clean up a messy situation after homophobic tweets from his past surfaced online.
Instead of just plain apologizing for his tweets and explaining how he’s allegedly changed since they were posted, Kevin took an all-expense-paid vacation beating around the bush. Instead of addressing the issue of homophobia, he continually acted like he was the victim of public backlash in videos and interviews.
He even had the nerve to go on Ellen (no doubt his “gay best friend”) and say, “I don’t have a homophobic bone in my body.”
Sorry straights.
It’s better to believe you still have some homophobia nestled up in you, than to proclaim you have 0 trans fats homophobia in your body.
This way, you can actively seek ways to become less homophobic on a personal and systematic level in this very homophobic world.
