Marsai Martin
Some of the most gif-able moments come from award shows, and the BET Awards didn’t disappoint with someone who’s already made a name for herself in viral history.
Most people know Marsai Martin for her roll as Diane in Black-ish, and if not, they certainly might recognize her from her pearl-clutching gif taken directly from the show.
Well now, Marsai provided another epic gif for the people when she won the Young Stars Award at the BET Awards.
Before going onstage to retrieve her trophy, the 14-year-old actress was apparently in shock, and her face said it all.
A new gif was born, and the Internet didn’t waste time using it to express their deepest feelings.
Thank you Marsai. More gifs for your enjoyment below.

Loser
Alabama
So a pregnant woman gets in an altercation with another woman in Alabama.
The other woman ends up shooting the pregnant woman in the stomach, killing her unborn child.
The pregnant woman gets charged with manslaughter.
HOW!?!?!
According to AL.com, authorities are saying that even though 27-year-old Marshae Jones didn’t fire the shots that killed her unborn baby, she initiated the fight that led to the gunfire. The cops initially charged 23-year-old Ebony Jemison with manslaughter, but the charges were dropped after the grand jury failed to indict her.
“The investigation showed that the only true victim in this was the unborn baby,’’ Pleasant Grove police Lt. Danny Reid said at the time the shooting occurred. “It was the mother of the child who initiated and continued the fight which resulted in the death of her own unborn baby.”
Reid said the fight was over the unborn kid’s father. According to him, Jones was the instigator, causing Jemison to defend herself, ultimately leading to the death of the baby.
The 5-month fetus was “dependent on its mother to try to keep it from harm, and she shouldn’t seek out unnecessary physical altercations,” Reid claimed.
But like…
WHO ACTUALLY SHOT THE UNBORN BABY?!
Women’s and reproductive rights organizations were swift in their outrage, especially considering Alabama just passed a harmful abortion law.
The Yellowhammer Fund, a member of the National Network of Abortion Funds, which assists women in accessing abortion services, released a statement, saying:
“The state of Alabama has proven yet again that the moment a person becomes pregnant their sole responsibility is to produce a live, healthy baby and that it considers any action a pregnant person takes that might impede in that live birth to be a criminal act.”
They continue:
“Today, Marshae Jones is being charged with manslaughter for being pregnant and getting shot while engaging in an altercation with a person who had a gun. Tomorrow, it will be another black woman, maybe for having a drink while pregnant. And after that, another, for not obtaining adequate prenatal care.”
Even Planned Parenthood came out against the charges with Nia Martin-Robinson, Director of Black Leadership and Engagement, writing:
“What Alabama has done is cruel. No one deserves to be punished for losing a pregnancy. The indictment of Marshae Jones is a clear example of how politicians and law enforcement criminalize Black people — and it must stop. Marshae Jones’ life matters and she deserves compassion for what happened, not to be prosecuted. Prosecuting someone for being the victim of a violent crime is not only alarming — it’s proof that Alabama will continue to target Black, pregnant people with their laws.”
Big L for you Alabama…once again.
