Nicki Minaj, Drake, Rick Ross & More Got Brotherly Love (PHOTOS)
Nicki Minaj killed the stage last night at Philly’s Powerhouse 2010, sponsored by Philly’s power 99 FM radio station. Of course Nicki wasn’t the only performer at Philly’s Powerhouse 2010, also performing last night was Drake, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Cali Swag District, Jazmine Sullivan, Bobby V., Lloyd, Meek Millz, DJ Drama and Opening act for Powerhouse 2010: Ybe.
MTV recently crowned Nicki Minaj 6th hottest MC for their 2010 hottest MCs list. The top five will be announced Sunday, October 24, on MTV 2. Even though Nicki hasn’t even put out a studio album yet, Pink Friday is set to be release November 22, she has made quite a name for herself already.
Drake, who was number 3 last year on the list without having an album out either, talked to MTV about his Young Money mate, Nicki Minaj, saying, ‘I think Nicki should make it based off of excitement.’
‘She’s one of, if not the most exciting rapper this year. Feature-wise, she’s on tracks with heavyweights killing; not holding her own, but killing. She’s controlling the radio. I think that’s grounds enough to make it. This year, who really? [Rick] Ross, Nicki. Everyone else hasn’t dropped yet. The excitement factor is there. I’m going off of excitement and buzz, ’cause I feel like that’s why I made it [last year]. A lot of it was off of the excitement I created for people. But Nicki has a lot to prove too. That album is a hump to get over, man. That’s a whole different monster — no pun intended.’
