GlobalGrind’s Guide to Skylar Grey: From ‘Coming Home’ to ‘Love The Way You Lie’ (PHOTOS)

Skylar Grey is both the most mysterious and the most pervasive new artist in the world of hip-pop. The strong, yet sweet voiced singer is the woman you hear singing alongside hip-hop hit makers on tracks like Diddy-Dirty Money’s ‘Coming Home,’ Lupe Fiasco‘s new one ‘Words I Never Said,’ and Dr. Dre and Eminem‘s ‘I Need A Doctor.’ 

Even though Skylar is becoming a household name, she’s still relatively enigmatic. Born Holly Brook Hafferman, the Wisconsin native previously recorded as Holly Brook before switching over to Skylar Grey. You may have heard Holly Brook on Fort Minor‘s 2006 hit ‘Where’d You Go’ but now she’s the first signee on Alex Da Kid‘s Wonderland Music imprint. ‘She plays like nine or ten instruments,’ says Da Kid, ‘She writes amazing songs. She’s the real deal.’
