Nicki Minaj Takes Over The World With #1 Platinum ‘Pink Friday’ Album (PHOTOS)

It’s been the talk for awhile now, but it’s finally official. Nicki Minaj is the newest queen of the hip-hop game and the charts. Her debut album, ‘Pink Friday’ has been out since November, but the news has just been released that the record is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in its 11th week. 

How did Nicki’s not-quite-new album reach the top? It’s simple, she has constantly and consistently stayed relevant and in the news, not just in the hip-hop world, but throughout all aspects of popular culture.

He recent appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ found the female MC not only performing but playing along in a hilarious skit with Andy Samberg‘s singing group ‘The Lonely Island’ and a ‘Bride of Blackenstein’ parody. Teen idols Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez both rapped her slick, catchy tune ‘Super Bass’ in videos that quickly went viral on the web. 

What’s more, sales of the already Platinum certified ‘Pink Friday’ have finally crossed 1 million, and now stand at 1,035,000. It’s easy to see why, given that each single is not just catchy and infectious but also has an epic and engrossing music video to go along with it. There’s the geisha antics in ‘Your Love,’ the romantic coupling between Nicki and Drake in ‘Moment 4 Life’ and her next single is set to be ‘Fly’ with Rihanna. We can only imagine the kooky, sexy clip those two will cook up.
