Finally! Republicans & Democrats Reach A Deal On Gun Background Checks (DETAILS)
It’s finally a done deal!
DETAILS: Gun Blockin’!? Joe Biden Calls GOP Senators Who Oppose Gun Legislation Vote “Embarrassing”
Two key senators have agreed on a deal to expand background checks to firearm sales at gun shows and on the internet, it was announced early Wednesday.
Sen. Pat Toomey, a conservative Pennsylvania Republican, announced the deal with West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who holds an A rating from the National Rifle Association.
The deal will act as a compromise between the Democrats and Republicans, drawing support from the right for expanding background checks.
However, the compromise didn’t go as far as the universal background checks that President Barack Obama first envisioned in the wake of the Newtown shootings. Instead, the Manchin-Toomey compromise will include exemptions for some transactions, such as those between family members.
The deal has been viewed by the National Rifle Association, but sources say that the lobby group is, not surprisingly, unlikely to support it.

The decision comes just a day before a possible Thursday vote on gun legislation will be made. Action from Republican senators refusing to take part in a filibuster that would prevent the gun legislation vote, has some suggesting that Thursday’s vote will be successful, with support on both sides.
But only time will tell. For now, the two parties are playing nice and have actually come to a decision without putting us all in the hole. And that calls for a celebration.
