'House of Spoils' Screening + Dining Experience

In celebration of the highly anticipated film House of Spoils, Prime Video and Primero Latino hosted an unforgettable evening at NeueHouse NYC earlier this week (October 1st). The horror film stars Academy Award-winning actress Ariana DeBose. After attendees watched an exclusive screening of House of Spoils, they were treated to a curated three-course immersive dinner experience that reflected the film’s culinary and psychological themes.

The star of the film was met by countless enthusiastic eventgoers upon her arrival. Next, DeBose met up with thevmastermind behind the evening’s culinary experience and owner of Hellbender in Ridgewood, Queens, Chef Yara Herrera. The two shared some candid moments behind the scene before VIPS were able to take in Ariana’s powerful performance as an ambitious chef opening a restaurant in an eerie and remote location. Throughout the screening, the film’s blend of kitchen chaos and supernatural tension was praised.

Guests made their way to the dinner space after the screening, where Chef Yara introduced each course of the specially curated meal. Each dish was crafted to reflect the themes of the film, offering a culinary experience that mirrored the film’s suspenseful and intense atmosphere. The dinner began with Ariana beautifully sharing her passion for the Blumhouse film and the collaboration that brought it to life. In addition to everything else the night had to offer, as guests waited for their dishes to be served, they enjoyed tarot readings by Chiquita Brujita.

The event was in partnership with Primero Latino, a Prime Video initiative championing Latino narratives and creatives—exemplifying its mission by uniquely blending film, food, and culture to spotlight voices that drive and authentically reflect Latino experiences.

Once the event concluded, Ariana DeBose and food stylist Zoe Hegedus participated in a special Q&A with Tribeca Film.
